NASA - Man to Mars

This project was assigned by NASA's Man to Mars (M2M) program. It was a collaboration with the Sasakawa International Center for Space Architecture directed by Larry Bell and professional advisor Buzz Aldrin.

The Mars Operations System Establishment Capsule (MOSEC) provides the initial steps to establishing manned operations on the surface of Mars. Through the use of a universal cab design, MOSEC-XI allows for adaptability and versatility in its role as both a permanent living and mobile excursion platform in M2M’s 5 year plan of advancing surface operations on Mars.

Service

Created the project’s three-month schedule and no change had to be made.

Leader of the ideation stage.

Worked closely with 10 teammates to generate as many concepts as possible.

Design, 3D modeling, rendering, animation, and execution.

Please watch video to understand the project

Ideation Process

Since all 11 designers had great ideas and wanted to participate in both interior and exterior designs, a schedule was created to allow everyone to have input in all design decisions. These are some of my contributions.

Refinemet

Since Outer Space wasn't our expertise, our work and ideas were supervised by Larry Bell and Buzz Aldrin to make sure they were feasible. Our constant communication with space architects and engineers helped us expand our knowledge and come up with innovative ways to solve problems.
